Being in the wireless industry for basically a decade already, there are a few phones out there that I just have an affinity to. Of course, a few of them aren’t exactly easy to get.
As such, if you have any of the phones, below, get in touch with me, and let’s see if we can hammer something out.
Motorola V60 for Sprint — Yes, they do exist
Motorola V120 for Sprint — Yes, they really do exist
Motorola MPx (aka MPx300) — Never released, many made
Nokia: Any US/North American CDMA Symbian Prototypes
Samsung SPH-i550 — This phone technically never launched, but loads of release-grade units are out there
Sony Ericsson T715 (CDMA – not the GSM version) — This phone never left the prototype stage, odds are you don’t have one unless you worked in the Research Park Triangle SEMC R&D facility
Sony Ericsson W31s
Sony Ericsson W41s
I’ll keep this list updated, so if you see it on here, I’m still looking for one.
Why would you want a Windows Mobile phone in this day and age?
Nostalgia. These are all important devices in the history of telecom. Most because had they launched, the companies that built them internally would probably be doing a lot better today.
I could tell the story of each and why, but that’s probably best for another day.
