Now that the SDK is imminent, I’m going to be crafting some bounties for some apps that I want to see authored. Why now? Because I want these apps to be mainstream, so that exponentially more people will actually use them.
I want you to suggest some apps that you’d like to see sponsored. Post your ideas in the comments (and yes, they will be shamelessly ripped off, hence the need for you to post them).
A couple of ideas I am already spinning… first, a remote wipe protocol, similar to Sanyo’s Find Me feature. A user is generated a hash of 160 characters, and the user can then SMS it to their iPhone. Upon doing so, all user data is erased (or, the user is locked out of the device except for emergency calls).
Also, a simple app that turns iPhone into a Wi-Fi access point. The goal would be to make it as simple as WMWifiRouter… one click, and your iPhone is now an access point.
That’s all for now, post away!
I’d definitely want to see a GOOD e-book reader. My favorite for Palm/Windows Mobile is iSilo, and I have a ton of files in that format. If someone ported that to the iPod Touch, (or found a reader to work with those .pdb files) I’d buy one in a heartbeat.
I’d also like to see an app to control the iPod Touch/iPhone from Windows (like MyMobiler for Windows). A lot of times I’m working at the computer and want to send a quick text message – why should I pick up my phone to do that when I can just remotely control my phone using my computer keyboard and mouse?
Those are my top suggestions …
A remote control app is certainly possible… the only tricky thing might be user input. But, VNC certainly can handle it. Great idea.
I set up a site specifically for this purpose.

I would like to see an app based solely on Physiology. There are plenty of apps on anatomy but I need physiology.
