One of my big gripes with Price Protectr (okay, fine, I don’t have any big gripes… it’s a small one), is that it didn’t let you go back in time and add a purchase that you made, say, four of five days ago.
True, Price Protectr lets you chose a different date, but the options were limited to 1, 2, 3, or 7 days ago. That was it… until now.
Now, Price Protectr pops up with a simple calendar that lets you peg the exact date you made purchases. This way, you’ll be given constant price protection against your purchases, for exactly how long you’re guaranteed a simple price match.
With that in mind, I’d posit my next suggestion to Price Protectr: attach the price protection protocol in the email alert. When a price drops, many don’t know what to do to redeem the price match. Price Protectr does have a nice web page detailing each of the policies… but I know most of the people I point to the site never see it.
They would, however, see such information if it was in a nice email letting them know that they were owed some free money.
Hi Chris. Thanks always for your in depth review of PP. The ultimate killer app, however, is now available. It’s our one-click protect Firefox toolbar. You can download it directly from the PP site. This is a fundemental change because now you can shop online from any site (Shopping.com, Shopzilla, large retail or e-tail, etc), and always have price protection a click away. As soon as you pull up any item offered by our covered retailers, the toolbar will indicate “protection availble” and show the PP user rating. Simply click, and, voila, you’re done. The tool bar auto populates all the item and purchase info directly to the PP site and your user account. Protection has never been easier! Our IE version will be forthcoming shortly as well. All the best, Tim Tonella, President, Price Protectr.
Great info and great service. Looking forward to the IE version. Thanks Tim!!!!
