A reader let me know that people already using Live Mesh can quickly invite a few other people to sign on to the program…
First few people that post a comment, will get an invite. Be sure to use your Live ID as your email address when posting the comment.
Thanks for the invite, Chris! I am highly looking forward to using this, and definitely want to try the Remote Desktop with Vista Home and XP Home for my HTPC in the living room …
Hmm, I wonder if I can use the RDP client on my Windows Mobile phone to control my HTPC while I’m sitting in front of the TV? That’d be cool.
RDP does not work with streaming video (mostly). In fact, Media Center won’t even run with a Remote Desktop connection.
If you don’t have MC open though, you can do just about everything else.
Hi Christopher, I would *love* a Mesh invite! Thanks very much!!
Would love to try out the Mesh.
And the new blog tweaks are looking good, too!
so far, I like it … i was able to connect to my desktop at home, and drag and drop a file i needed onto my work desktop – seemlessly with no waiting!
The only downside is that something don’t work in Firefox, due to lack of ActiveX support. I did use a Firefox Extension called IE Tab which opens an IE window – worked without a problem.
I’ve been dying to check this out.
Any invite would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Still have a couple of invites left…
isn’t this back to my mac cum microsoft?
Yes, but with few key differences.
1) It’s free. Apple’s .Mac service is $99/year.
2) It has folder synchronization that makes sense.
3) Live Desktop interacts with both services, giving you 5 GB of free storage with an AJAX environment… and you can sync with it, and all your Windows PCs.
4) Microsoft is promising Mac and Windows Mobile support, with future expansion to more mobile phones (iPhone & S60 come to mind).
5) It actually works.
I’ve been dying to get one. By any chance is there one..? Thank U
Any invites left? Would love to try it out.

Any invite would be appreciated.
Thanks
Sorry folks, I’m out of invites!
However, there is now http://www.sharemesh.com which is a site where people can help others sign up for Live Mesh by using up their invites, essentially forming an unlimited conga line. I encourage everyone that signs up to Live Mesh to use it.
