iPod touch software update 1.1.2 adds one disabled feature that is present on iPhone, but not on iPod touch. You can now add calendar events on the device, and iTunes will sync that back to iCal/Outlook on your Mac/PC.
iPod touch could always do this, in fact, once jailbroken, it was found to be a simple plist option to edit… and Calendar quickly became fully-functional. Installer.app even had a one-touch install for the tweak.
This is just one of the many times that hackers have turned the tables on Apple, iPhone third-party software overall being one of the more major in the iPod-side of things. Hopefully as we get closer to February, Apple will add back all the other missing apps from iPod touch (Mail, Weather, Stocks, Google Maps, and Notes).
